तथ होवाच गार्गी वाचक्नवी। ब्राह्मणा भगवन्तोऽहं वः प्रश्नौ प्रक्ष्यामि। तौ चेन्मे वक्ष्यसि। न वै जातु युष्माकमिमं कश्चिद्ब्रह्मोद्यं जेतेति। पृच्छ गार्गीति॥

tatha hovāca gārgī vācaknavī | brāhmaṇā bhagavanto\'haṃ vaḥ praśnau prakṣyāmi | tau cenme vakṣyasi | na vai jātu yuṣmākаmimaṃ kaścidbrahmodуaṃ jeteti | pṛccha gārgīti ||

"Then Gargi Vacaknavi said: "Venerable Brahmins, I will ask him two questions. If he answers them, none of you will defeat him in argument about Brahman." "Ask, Gargi.""

What This Means:

Gargi returns with two final questions. She stakes everything: If he answers these, no one can defeat him in debate about Brahman.
