स होवाच। गार्गि मातिप्राक्षीर्मा ते मूर्धा विपतिष्यति। अनतिप्रश्न्यां वै देवतामतिपृच्छसि। गार्गि मातिप्राक्षीरिति॥
sa hovāca | gārgi mātiprākṣīrmā te mūrdhā vipatiṣyati | anatiPraśnyāṃ vai devatāmatipṛcchasi | gārgi mātiprākṣīriti ||
"He said: "Gargi, do not ask too much, lest your head fall off. You are asking about a deity that is not to be questioned further. Do not ask too much, Gargi.""
What This Means:
Yajnavalkya warns: Stop questioning or your head will fall off! You're asking about what cannot be questioned further.
Going Deeper:
The warning indicates the approach to the ultimate. Beyond Brahmaloka is the unquestionable - the Akshara (Imperishable).
How To Apply This:
There is a point beyond which questioning fails. That is the Imperishable.
