""Brahminhood abandons one who knows brahminhood as other than the Self. Kshatriya-hood abandons one who knows it as other than the Self. The worlds, the gods, the beings, everything abandons one who knows them as other than the Self.""

What This Means:

If you think brahminhood, status, worlds, gods, beings, or anything is separate from the Self, they abandon you.

Going Deeper:

Separation consciousness leads to loss. Only by knowing all as Self does one truly possess anything.

How To Apply This:

Don't see anything as separate from the Self. That separation causes loss and alienation.
