Aitareya Upanishad 3.9

तन्मनसाऽजिघृक्षत्तन्नाशक्नोन्मनसा ग्रहीतुम् ।
स यद्धैनन्मनसाऽग्रहैष्यद्ध्यात्वा हैवान्नमत्रप्स्यत् ॥
tan manasā 'jighṛkṣat tan nāśaknon manasā grahītum | sa yad dhainan manasā 'grahaiṣyad dhyātvā haivānnam atrapsyat ||
"He tried to grasp it with mind but could not seize it with mind. If he had seized it with mind, one would be satisfied merely by thinking about food."
What This Means:
Even the mind can't capture food. Meditating on food, visualizing meals, remembering past feasts — none of this nourishes the body.
How To Apply This:
Thinking about something is not the same as having it. Mental rehearsal of success isn't success. Imagining peace isn't peace. At some point, you must act, embody, actually live.
