स ईक्षतेमे नु लोकाश्च लोकपालाश्चान्नमेभ्यः सृजा इति ॥

sa īkṣateme nu lokāś ca lokapālāś cānnam ebhyaḥ sṛjā iti ||

"He thought: "Here are the worlds and the world-guardians. Let me create food for them.""

What This Means:

Having created the body with its faculties, the Self now considers creating food to sustain them. The body needs nourishment; the cosmic order requires sustenance.

Going Deeper:

Food (anna) in Vedic thought is not just physical nutrition but everything that sustains life — experiences, sensations, objects of perception. The world itself becomes "food" for the senses.

How To Apply This:

Everything you perceive is "food" for your senses and mind. Choose your diet carefully — not just physical food but what you feed your eyes, ears, and mind. Garbage in, garbage out.

Key Sanskrit Terms:

Anna= Food, nourishmentLokapāla= World-guardians
