Gita 9.18
गतिर्भर्ता प्रभुः साक्षी निवासः शरणं सुहृत्। प्रभवः प्रलयः स्थानं निधानं बीजमव्ययम्।।

gatir bhartā prabhuḥ sākṣī nivāsaḥ śaraṇaṁ suhṛt prabhavaḥ pralayaḥ sthānaṁ nidhānaṁ bījam avyayam

"I am the goal, the sustainer, the master, the witness, the abode, the refuge, the friend. I am the origin and dissolution, the foundation, the treasure, and the imperishable seed."

What This Means:

More identifications: Krishna is where you're going (goal), what supports you (sustainer), who rules (master), who watches (witness), where you live (abode), where you take shelter (refuge), who loves you (friend). Plus origin, end, ground, treasure, and eternal seed.

Going Deeper:

He's not just transcendent God—He's also intimate friend (suhrit). This word implies one who wishes your good without ulterior motive. The cosmic Lord is also personal companion.

How To Apply This:

The Divine is your goal AND your friend, your master AND your refuge. Let both aspects be real in your relationship—cosmic awe and intimate friendship aren't contradictory.
