ihaiva tair jitaḥ sargo yeṣāṁ sāmye sthitaṁ manaḥ nirdoṣaṁ hi samaṁ brahma tasmād brahmaṇi te sthitāḥ
"Even here, in this life, birth is conquered by those whose mind is established in equality. Brahman is flawless and the same in all; therefore they are established in Brahman."
What This Means:
Those whose minds rest in this equality-vision conquer birth and death right here, in this very life. Why? Because Brahman is flawless and the same everywhere. By seeing sameness, they've aligned with Brahman's nature and are established in it.
Going Deeper:
'Iha eva jitah sarga' (birth conquered here itself) means liberation happens now, not later. 'Samye sthitam manah' (mind established in equality) is the key. 'Nirdosham samam Brahma' (Brahman is flawless and equal)—since ultimate reality is uniform, seeing uniformity aligns you with reality. You become what you see; see Brahman everywhere, be established in Brahman.
How To Apply This:
Liberation isn't a post-death event—it's available now. The price of admission is equalizing your vision. Every time you see differences as ultimate, you reinforce separation. Every time you see the same Self in all, you align with truth and move toward freedom.
