Gita 2.7

kārpaṇya-doṣopahata-svabhāvaḥ pṛcchāmi tvāṁ dharma-sammūḍha-cetāḥ yac chreyaḥ syān niścitaṁ brūhi tan me śiṣyas te 'haṁ śādhi māṁ tvāṁ prapannam

"My heart is overcome with weakness. My mind is confused about my duty. I ask you: tell me clearly what is best for me. I am your student. Please teach me—I surrender to you."

What This Means:

This is the turning point. Arjuna stops arguing and genuinely asks for help. He admits he's confused, admits he's weak, and surrenders to Krishna as his teacher. This humility opens the door for the entire Gita teaching.

Going Deeper:

The words 'shishyas te aham' (I am your student) and 'tvam prapannam' (I surrender to you) transform the relationship. Until now, Krishna was Arjuna's friend and charioteer. Now he becomes his Guru. Without this surrender, no teaching is possible. The student must be ready.

How To Apply This:

When you're truly stuck, drop your ego and ask for help. Say 'I don't know' and mean it. The moment you stop pretending to have all the answers is the moment real learning can begin. Surrender isn't weakness—it's the prerequisite for wisdom.
