Gita 18.72
कच्चिदेतच्छ्रुतं पार्थ त्वयैकाग्रेण चेतसा।
कच्चिदज्ञानसंमोहः प्रनष्टस्ते धनञ्जय॥
kaccid etac chrutaṁ pārtha tvayaikāgreṇa cetasā kaccid ajñāna-saṁmohaḥ praṇaṣṭas te dhanañjaya
"Have you heard this with one-pointed mind, O Partha? Has your delusion born of ignorance been destroyed, O Dhananjaya?"
What This Means:
Krishna asks Arjuna: Did you listen with full attention? Has your confusion caused by ignorance been removed?
Going Deeper:
'Ekagra chetasa' - with one-pointed mind - Krishna asks about the quality of attention. 'Ajnana-sammoha' - delusion born of ignorance - recalls Arjuna's original confusion. 'Pranashta' - destroyed completely. Krishna checks if the teaching has achieved its purpose. The caring teacher verifies understanding before concluding.
How To Apply This:
After receiving important teaching, reflect: Did I really listen? Has my confusion lifted? If not, revisit the teaching. Understanding must be verified.
