Gita 18.59

"If, taking shelter in ego, you think 'I will not fight,' that resolve is vain. Your own nature will compel you."

What This Means:

If your ego makes you think 'I won't fight,' that decision is false. Your own warrior nature will force you to fight anyway.

Going Deeper:

Krishna addresses Arjuna's potential evasion. 'Ahamkaram ashritya' - relying on ego (not genuine wisdom) - might lead to false renunciation. 'Mithya' - vain, false - this resolve won't hold. 'Prakriti niyokshyati' - your own nature will compel you. Svabhava (innate nature) cannot be denied indefinitely. A warrior must eventually fight.

How To Apply This:

You can't escape your nature through denial. If something is truly your dharma, suppressing it creates more problems than facing it. Accept who you are.
