Gita 18.20
सर्वभूतेषु येनैकं भावमव्ययमीक्षते। अविभक्तं विभक्तेषु तज्ज्ञानं विद्धि सात्त्विकम्॥

sarva-bhūteṣu yenaikaṁ bhāvam avyayam īkṣate avibhaktaṁ vibhakteṣu taj jñānaṁ viddhi sāttvikam

"Know that knowledge to be sattvic by which one sees the one imperishable Reality in all beings—undivided in the divided."

What This Means:

Sattvic knowledge is seeing the same unchanging spiritual essence in all beings. Though bodies and minds differ, the underlying consciousness is one and the same everywhere.

Going Deeper:

This is the highest knowledge - perceiving unity in diversity. 'Avyaya' (imperishable) refers to the eternal Brahman or Atman. 'Avibhakta' in 'vibhakta' - undivided in the divided - captures the paradox of spiritual vision. While empirically seeing differences, the sattvic knower simultaneously perceives the underlying oneness. This is the vision that ends all conflict.

How To Apply This:

Practice seeing the same essential awareness in everyone you meet - regardless of their appearance, status, or behavior. This transforms how you treat all beings.
