Gita 13.12
अध्यात्मज्ञाननित्यत्वं तत्त्वज्ञानार्थदर्शनम्। एतज्ज्ञानमिति प्रोक्तमज्ञानं यदतोऽन्यथा॥

adhyātma-jñāna-nityatvaṁ tattva-jñānārtha-darśanam etaj jñānam iti proktam ajñānaṁ yad ato 'nyathā

"Constancy in self-knowledge, insight into the purpose of true knowledge—this is declared to be knowledge; what is contrary to this is ignorance."

What This Means:

The final qualities: constant engagement with spiritual knowledge and seeing what knowledge is really for (liberation). Krishna declares: these qualities together constitute true knowledge. Everything else is ignorance.

Going Deeper:

The culminating qualities: (18) adhyātma-jñāna-nityatvam—constancy in self-knowledge (not occasional study but continuous contemplation), (19) tattva-jñāna-artha-darśanam—seeing the purpose/goal of true knowledge (not knowledge for curiosity but for liberation). 'Etaj jñānam'—this is knowledge. 'Ajñānam yad ato anyathā'—whatever is other than this is ignorance. A stark conclusion!

How To Apply This:

These 20 qualities aren't just nice ideas—they're diagnostic tools. Review the list and identify which qualities you're strong in and which need work. True knowledge transforms character; mere information doesn't.
