Gita 10.1
श्रीभगवानुवाच।
भूय एव महाबाहो शृणु मे परमं वचः।
यत्तेऽहं प्रीयमाणाय वक्ष्यामि हितकाम्यया।।
śrī-bhagavān uvāca bhūya eva mahā-bāho śṛṇu me paramaṁ vacaḥ yat te 'haṁ prīyamāṇāya vakṣyāmi hita-kāmyayā
"The Supreme Lord said: Again, O mighty-armed, hear My supreme word, which I shall speak to you who are dear to Me, desiring your welfare."
What This Means:
Krishna continues teaching because Arjuna is dear to Him (priyamanaya). He speaks for Arjuna's benefit (hita-kamya). The teaching flows from love, not just duty.
Going Deeper:
The motivation for divine teaching is always welfare (hita). Krishna isn't showing off His glories—He's helping Arjuna develop the capacity to see the Divine everywhere. Love motivates revelation.
How To Apply This:
True teaching comes from love and desire for the student's welfare. When you teach or share knowledge, examine your motivation. Is it for their benefit or your display?
