Gita 1.2
सञ्जय उवाच। दृष्ट्वा तु पाण्डवानीकं व्यूढं दुर्योधनस्तदा। आचार्यमुपसङ्गम्य राजा वचनमब्रवीत्।।

sañjaya uvāca dṛṣṭvā tu pāṇḍavānīkaṁ vyūḍhaṁ duryodhanas tadā ācāryam upasaṅgamya rājā vacanam abravīt

"Sanjaya said: Seeing the Pandava army arranged in military formation, King Duryodhana approached his teacher Drona and spoke these words."

What This Means:

Duryodhana, the leader of the opposing side, sees the Pandava army ready for battle. His first instinct? Run to his teacher Drona. Even though he's a king, when faced with a formidable challenge, he seeks out his mentor.

Going Deeper:

Duryodhana's approach to Drona reveals his anxiety. Though he has the larger army, he's worried. The word 'vyudham' (arranged in formation) suggests the Pandavas are well-prepared, which unsettles him.

How To Apply This:

When facing challenges, we often seek reassurance from those we respect. There's wisdom in seeking counsel, but notice if you're seeking validation for your fears rather than genuine guidance.

Key Sanskrit Terms:

Acharya= Teacher, spiritual guideDrona= The martial arts teacher of both armiesVyudham= Arranged in formation
