कामान्यः कामयते मन्यमानः स कामभिर्जायते तत्र तत्र। पर्याप्तकामस्य कृतात्मनस्तु इहैव सर्वे प्रविलीयन्ति कामाः॥
kāmānyaḥ kāmayate manyamānaḥ sa kāmabhirjāyate tatra tatra | paryāptakāmasya kṛtātmanastu ihaiva sarve pravilīyanti kāmāḥ ||
"One who desires objects, thinking of them, is born here and there according to those desires. But for one whose desires are fulfilled, whose self is perfected, all desires dissolve right here."
What This Means:
If you desire things, you're reborn to fulfill those desires. But for one who is fulfilled and self-realized, all desires dissolve in this very life.
Going Deeper:
"Paryapta-kama" means desires are fully satisfied (not suppressed). "Krita-atma" means the self is accomplished. Both are marks of liberation.
How To Apply This:
Desires lead to rebirth. Find fulfillment within, and desires dissolve naturally.
