तं दुर्दर्शं गूढमनुप्रविष्टं गुहाहितं गह्वरेष्ठं पुराणम्। अध्यात्मयोगाधिगमेन देवं मत्वा धीरो हर्षशोकौ जहाति॥
taṃ durdṛśaṃ gūḍhamanupraviṣṭaṃ guhāhitaṃ gahvareṣṭhaṃ purāṇam | adhyātmayogādhigamena devaṃ matvā dhīro harṣaśokau jahāti ||
""The wise, knowing the Self - hard to see, deeply hidden, set in the cave of the heart, dwelling in the deep - through the yoga of the inner self, leaves behind both joy and sorrow.""
What This Means:
The Self is hidden in the cave of the heart, difficult to see. The wise person, through inner yoga, realizes it and transcends both joy and sorrow.
Going Deeper:
The "cave" (guha) is the heart center. "Adhyatma yoga" is the discipline of turning attention inward. True knowledge brings equanimity.
How To Apply This:
Turn your attention inward. The Self you seek is hidden in your own heart, not somewhere outside.
