"He should reply: "This does not age with the body, nor is it killed when the body is killed. This is the true city of Brahman, in which desires are contained. This is the Self - free from sin, ageless, deathless, sorrowless, hungerless, thirstless, with true desires and true will.""
What This Means:
The heart-space does not age or die with the body. This is the true Self - without sin, age, death, sorrow, hunger, thirst. Its desires and will are true.
Going Deeper:
The Self (Atman) in the heart-space is described with eight attributes: free from sin (apahata-papma), ageless (vijara), deathless (vimrityu), sorrowless (vishoka), hungerless (vijighatsa), thirstless (apipasa), true-desiring (satyakama), true-willing (satyasankalpa).
How To Apply This:
Know your Self as ageless, deathless, sorrowless. This is your true nature, beyond bodily conditions.
