"This Self is Brahman. It is made of consciousness, made of mind, made of breath, made of speech, made of sight, made of hearing, made of earth, water, air, space, light and dark, desire and desirelessness, anger and peace, dharma and adharma. It is made of all this - "made of this, made of that.""

Mahavakya (Great Saying)

अयमात्मा ब्रह्म

Ayam Ātmā Brahma

"This Self is Brahman"

What This Means:

The Self is Brahman. It appears to be made of mind, senses, elements, emotions, ethics - "made of this and that" (idammaya, adomaya).

Going Deeper:

Aham Brahmasmi is implicit. The Self appears as everything through limiting adjuncts, but is really Brahman.

How To Apply This:

You are Brahman appearing as all these qualities. Don't identify with the qualities - know the Self.
