मैत्रेयीति होवाच याज्ञवल्क्यः उद्यास्यन्वा अहमस्मात्स्थानादस्मि। हन्त तेऽनया कात्यायन्या अन्तं करवाणीति॥

maitreyīti hovāca yājñavalkyaḥ udyāsyanvā ahamasmātsthānādasmi | hanta te\'nayā kātyāyanyā antaṃ karavāṇīti ||

""Maitreyi!" said Yajnavalkya, "I am about to renounce this life. Let me make a settlement between you and Katyayani.""

What This Means:

Sage Yajnavalkya tells his wife Maitreyi he will renounce worldly life. He offers to divide his wealth between her and his other wife Katyayani.
