sa etena prajñenātmanā 'smāl lokād utkramyāmuṣmin svarge loke sarvān kāmān āptvā 'mṛtaḥ samabhavat samabhavat ||
"By this conscious Self, ascending from this world, he obtained all desires in that heavenly world and became immortal — became immortal."
What This Means:
Through recognizing the Self as pure consciousness (prajna), one transcends this world. In the "heavenly world" (of liberation), all desires are fulfilled because one recognizes oneself as the source of all fulfillment. Such a one becomes immortal.
Going Deeper:
The closing verse echoes Vamadeva's attainment. The repetition "samabhavat samabhavat" (became, became) emphasizes certainty. Liberation isn't uncertain or gradual — it's complete. Recognition of consciousness as Brahman IS liberation.
How To Apply This:
You don't need to die to experience this. The consciousness that IS Brahman is present now. "Ascending" can mean rising to recognition in this very life. All desires are fulfilled when you discover you are their source.
