Chapter 10: Divine Manifestations
Krishna reveals His "vibhutis", divine manifestations in the world. He is the best of everything: the sun among luminaries, Vishnu among gods, Om among words, the Himalayas among mountains. This chapter trains the mind to recognize the Divine everywhere by seeing it in extraordinary things.
Learning to see God in the excellent helps us eventually see God in everything. This is practical training in divine perception.

Verse 10.8, The Source of All
अहं सर्वस्य प्रभवो मत्तः सर्वं प्रवर्तते।
इति मत्वा भजन्ते मां बुधा भावसमन्विताः।।
ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate iti matvā bhajante māṁ budhā bhāva-samanvitāḥ
"I am the source of everything; from Me all proceeds. Knowing this, the wise worship Me with loving devotion."
Krishna is the origin (prabhava) of all that exists. Everything proceeds (pravartate) from Him. Those who understand this worship with genuine emotion (bhava), not just ritual, but heartfelt devotion.
Verse 10.20, I Am the Self in All
अहमात्मा गुडाकेश सर्वभूताशयस्थितः।
अहमादिश्च मध्यं च भूतानामन्त एव च।।
aham ātmā guḍākeśa sarva-bhūtāśaya-sthitaḥ aham ādiś ca madhyaṁ ca bhūtānām anta eva ca
"I am the Self, O Arjuna, dwelling in the heart of all beings. I am the beginning, middle, and end of all beings."
Before listing external manifestations, Krishna reveals His most intimate presence: He is the Atman, the Self within every being. He's also the beginning, middle, and end of all existence.
Verse 10.21-22, Examples of Vibhuti
आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्ज्योतिषां रविरंशुमान्।
मरीचिर्मरुतामस्मि नक्षत्राणामहं शशी।।
ādityānām ahaṁ viṣṇur jyotiṣāṁ ravir aṁśumān marīcir marutām asmi nakṣatrāṇām ahaṁ śaśī
"Of the Adityas I am Vishnu, of lights I am the radiant sun, of the Maruts I am Marichi, of the stars I am the moon."
Krishna begins His famous list: the most glorious in each category represents Him. See excellence, see the Divine. The sun, the moon, the brightest star, these are doorways to recognizing God.
Verse 10.41, Whatever is Glorious...
यद्यद्विभूतिमत्सत्त्वं श्रीमदूर्जितमेव वा।
तत्तदेवावगच्छ त्वं मम तेजोऽंशसम्भवम्।।
yad yad vibhūtimat sattvaṁ śrīmad ūrjitam eva vā tat tad evāvagaccha tvaṁ mama tejo-'ṁśa-sambhavam
"Whatever being is glorious, prosperous, or powerful, know that to be a manifestation of a fragment of My splendor."
The summary principle: wherever you see glory, prosperity, or power, there is a spark of Krishna. He doesn't list every example, He gives the principle so you can recognize Him everywhere.
