Gita 6.45
प्रयत्नाद्यतमानस्तु योगी संशुद्धकिल्बिषः। अनेकजन्मसंसिद्धस्ततो याति परां गतिम्।।

prayatnād yatamānas tu yogī saṁśuddha-kilbiṣaḥ aneka-janma-saṁsiddhas tato yāti parāṁ gatim

"But the yogi who strives with effort, purified of all impurities, perfected through many births, then reaches the supreme goal."

What This Means:

The yogi who keeps trying, life after life, gradually purifies all impurities. After many births of progress, they finally reach the supreme destination. Persistence across lifetimes guarantees success.

Going Deeper:

Prayatna (effort) + yatamana (striving) over aneka-janma (many births) leads to samsuddha-kilbisha (completely purified of impurities) and finally para gati (supreme goal). The path may be long but the destination is certain.

How To Apply This:

Take the long view. You may not complete the journey in this life, but every effort counts. The combination of persistent striving and gradual purification, continued across whatever time is needed, guarantees success.
