śrī-bhagavān uvāca bahūni me vyatītāni janmāni tava cārjuna tāny ahaṁ veda sarvāṇi na tvaṁ vettha parantapa
"The Supreme Lord said: Many births of Mine have passed, and many of yours too, O Arjuna. I remember them all, but you do not."

Krishna's answer is stunning: 'Both of us have had many, many births. The difference? I remember all of them—mine and yours. You've forgotten yours.' This reveals Krishna's divine consciousness that spans all time.

This verse establishes reincarnation and the difference between divine and human consciousness. The jiva (individual soul) forgets past lives due to the veil of maya. The Lord, being the eternal witness, remembers all. Krishna isn't claiming memory of just his births, but Arjuna's too—he is the consciousness in which all experience occurs.
How To Apply This:
You've lived before. Your deep attractions, inexplicable fears, natural talents, and soul connections may echo from lives you can't consciously remember. While you can't access those memories, someone does—the eternal witness within you. You are not your current biography.
