śraddhāvān labhate jñānaṁ tat-paraḥ saṁyatendriyaḥ jñānaṁ labdhvā parāṁ śāntim acireṇādhigacchati
"The one with faith, devoted to it, with senses controlled, attains knowledge. Having attained knowledge, one quickly reaches supreme peace."
What This Means:
Who gets knowledge? One with faith, dedication, and sense control. What happens after gaining knowledge? Supreme peace comes quickly. Faith opens the door, dedication walks through it, self-control stays the course, and peace is the reward.
Going Deeper:
Three prerequisites: 'shraddhavan' (with faith—not blind belief but trusting openness), 'tat-para' (devoted to that—single-pointed focus), 'samyatendriya' (controlled senses—not distracted by every stimulus). The result: 'param shantim' (supreme peace) comes 'achirena' (quickly, without delay). Once knowledge dawns, peace isn't gradual—it's immediate recognition.
How To Apply This:
Check your prerequisites: Do you have faith that truth exists and can be known? Are you dedicated, making this pursuit primary? Are you exercising enough sense control to stay focused? If these are in place, knowledge will come—and peace will follow swiftly.
