Gita 16.5
दैवी सम्पद्विमोक्षाय निबन्धायासुरी मता। मा शुचः सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातोऽसि पाण्डव॥

daivī sampad vimokṣāya nibandhāyāsurī matā mā śucaḥ sampadaṁ daivīm abhijāto 'si pāṇḍava

"The divine endowment is deemed for liberation; the demonic for bondage. Grieve not, O Pandava; you are born with divine endowment."

What This Means:

Divine qualities lead to liberation; demonic qualities lead to bondage. Krishna reassures Arjuna: don't worry—you were born with divine nature. This is encouragement for the sincere seeker.

Going Deeper:

'Daivī sampad vimokṣāya'—divine endowment for liberation. 'Nibandhāya āsurī matā'—demonic considered for bondage. The stakes are clear: character determines destiny. 'Mā śucaḥ'—don't grieve. 'Daivīm sampadam abhijātaḥ asi'—you are born with divine endowment. Anyone sincerely studying this teaching likely has divine tendencies.

How To Apply This:

If you're drawn to spiritual teachings and self-improvement, you have divine tendencies. Don't obsess over your flaws—the very fact that you care about growth is a sign of daivi sampada. Build on your strengths.
